The creators of the international touring production TAP KIDS
on-going program for future replacements for the touring show and other opportunities. If you are interested in being considered for this program, please follow the steps below. Please note that prospective apprentices must be accepted and registered in the TK Summer Intensive Program. Space in the apprentice program is LIMITED. Applicants must be 14-22.
TK APPRENTICE PROGRAM
THURSDAY JULY 5th - SATURDAY JULY 7th 2018

3-day pre-professional workshop plus additional rehearsals during TK Intensive.
1st Step: Apply to the program. If accepted, you will be invited to the apprentice workshop at the TK Summer Intensive in July. At these rehearsals, you will have a chance to learn some of the show material and work with some of the cast and TK Creative Team.
2nd Step: You will be invited to attend rehearsals throughout the week of the intensive and in some cases, may be asked to perform a number from the show at the showcase.
3rd Step: You may be asked to learn certain materials from the show on your own via video tape.
4th Step: You will be invited to attend a studio training session with one of the designated cast members or choreographer Lisa Hopkins
The next steps vary from case to case and are completely at the discretion of the Artistic Director, but may include travel to a venue with the cast and crew of Tap Kids. You will be expected to have certain numbers from the show performance ready. After a minimum of 3 of these engagements, you will officially be a TK APPRENTICE.
MAKING YOUR AUDITION VIDEO
1. Complete the application form. Pay the application fee and paste the paypal URL into the space provided on the application form.
2. The audition video should contain a brief introduction (your name, age, tap dancing goals) and then a short routine demonstrating technical and artistic ability. Please also include a sample of your improv skills and anything else that you feel makes you unique as a dancer. If you do jazz or hip hop, please also include a sample.
3. Videos should be simple and "unproduced". Please do not submit competition tapes alone without the other requested elements.
Upload your video to a video sharing site (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and paste the public URL into the space provided on the application form.
