HOW EARLY SHOULD I GET MY APPLICATION IN?
The earlier the better. We accept applications on a rolling basis until the deadline or until the workshop is full - whichever comes first! Late applications may be accepted with a late fee -space permitting.
HOW ADVANCED DO I NEED TO BE TO QUALIFY?
TAP KIDS is designed for the trained tap dancer who wants to be challenged and inspired by our phenomenal faculty. The program is designed to stretch the dancer technically, musically and artistically. It is rigorous program. We recommend that you can handle dancing up to 8 hours or more a day. If you LOVE to tap and want to spend a week with others who share your passion, TAP KIDS is for you!
I REALLY WANT TO DO TAP KIDS BUT I'M TO YOUNG AND NOT QUITE READY TO HANDLE IT.

WHAT IF I DON'T GET IN?
Don't give up! We encourage everyone that isn't accepted to try again the following year. We are also happy to talk about what a dancer can do to improve their technique. You can also attend TK Bootcamp!
WHEN DO CLASSES BEGIN ?
Students and parents are invited to orientation on Saturday evening around 7 PM (you will receive email about specifics). Classes begin Sunday morning.
I'M BOOKING MY TICKETS WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AND DEPART?
Plan to arrive before 7PM on Saturday to attend orientation . If you are unable to make it, we will make other arrangements, please inquire. The TK Showcase Spec-TAP-ular ends around 10 PM on Saturday evening. Plan to check out and travel home on Sunday morning.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE AT TAP KIDS?
A delicious full breakfast at the hotel, a stroll across the street to the studio for a team meeting. Classes typically start at 9:30 and there are usually two before lunch. TK's can go back to hotel,bring lunch and stay at studio or stroll to nearby "Healthy Living" Market. After lunch, another class and then usually a rehearsal. All break for dinner and take advantage of the free food and happy hour weekdays at the hotel. Evenings are usually reserved for rehearsals, a tap cruise, and special classes.
DO MOST KIDS COME BY THEMSELVES OR DO THEY COME WITH PARENTS?
A combination of both. Many parents come to enjoy all that Burlington has to offer and to attend the TK Showcase Spec-tap-ular" at the end of the week. W ealso help arrange shared rooms and roommate situations if you are traveling solo.
WHAT KIND OF CLASSES ARE OFFERED AT TAP KIDS?
Classes offered in: Technique, Improvisation, Body Percussion, Repertory, African Dance & Drumming and more including special masterclasses and TK projects including TK video project and "Capture the Tap" - TK Paint project.
ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO WATCH CLASS?
We prefer to leave the dancing to the dancers. There is so much to do in and around Burlington, we recommend you sit back and relax and take a vaca. We'll see you on the TK Cruise!
WHAT IS IN THE POCKET? SHOULD I TAKE IT?
The “In the Pocket” Master Classes in Improvisation is an additional master class in improvisation offered to a limited number of participants with a live jazz trio. It is highly recommended for improvisors of all levels and one of the highlights of the week.

TK Faculty varies each year and always features a cast of the world's most respected and innovative tap artists. Visit our Faculty Page to see some of TK Faculty past and present.
IS THERE A PERFORMANCE?
YES! All dancers perform in the TK Showcase Spec-TAP-ular performancesat the end of the week, featuring new choreography by our faculty, a live band and the premiere of a new piece from TK Emerging choreograhers.
